About

On the 26th August 2017 we will take on the South Coast Challenge to raise money for Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice in honour of our gorgeous son Winston.
Since Winston’s death, we have been helped through the darkest of times and the birth of Winston’s brother Frank by our friends, loved ones, the NHS and the children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House.
As well as caring for children with life-shortening illness and providing valuable respite for their families, CTH provided us with time and a safe space within which to take decisions you hope never to have to whilst facing our greatest fear. Even now 12 months later we are still supported by them.
Since losing Winston, we have been encouraged by the efforts of our family, friends and strangers who have raised money for CTH in Winston’s memory. We now feel able to do something ourselves to honour our beautiful boy and will be walking 100km in 24hrs as part of the south coast challenge on 26th August 2017 to raise money for CTH.
We'd be extremely grateful for your support and any donations you are able to give to spur us on as we prepare for the challenge over the coming months.
Many thanks,
Rhiannon, Ric, baby Frank and Winston in our hearts x

Chestnut Tree House - Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in Sussex and cares for 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions from Sussex and South East Hampshire.

Completed in 2003, the hospice provides a 'home from home' environment with 10 children's bedrooms plus eight family rooms, a wet and dry play area, computer and music rooms, a multi sensory room and hydrotherapy pool. The house is set in beautiful gardens within an area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are potentially 1,000 families with life-limited children in Sussex. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.

The hospice costs almost £3 million per year to run. Families are never charged for their care and less than 8p in every pound is funded by the government, so we rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
